Hilltop Family Housing
Nature of Work: A USDA funded Project with Davis-Bacon reporting. Renovations and additions to rehabilitate 24 multi-family affordable housing units at 4 separate sites with historic elements for RuralEdge, a rural regional housing non-profit organization
Location: St. Johnsbury, Vermont
Funding was committed by Vermont Housing Finance Agency, Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, USDA Rural Development, and Efficiency Vermont.
This Project involved four separate, multi-family residences in three areas of the Town. In addition to helping address current Building Code issues, Trumbull-Nelson managed system upgrades to heating, plumbing and electrical systems along with reconfigured apartment layouts with new finishes.
Specifications included a variety of green strategies, such as a high-performance envelope including spray foam insulation; cellulose insulation; exterior rigid insulation with rain-screen siding; high-efficiency heating; low water usage plumbing fixtures; solar hot water; and the re-use of existing building stock. The Project followed Green Communities Criteria.
Trumbull-Nelson was a proud participant in the St. Johnsbury residential renovation project.
