Trumbull-Nelson Construction Company recently
completed work for the Montshire Museum of Science,
in Norwich, Vermont. The task involved site work to
enhance pedestrian safety and access, parking,
paving and landscape.
The $1.9 Million Montshire Access Project (MAP)
includes a number of features that improve entry to
this unique Upper Valley resource. Visitors entering
the Museum will no longer have to cross in front of
entering and exiting traffic, thanks to the creation
of a tree-lined pedestrian walkway from the parking
area to the building. The new entryway includes a
landscaped terrace with benches to facilitate easy
drop-off for schoolchildren and other groups
arriving by bus. The parking area for the Museum has
nearly tripled; a result of redesign, and the
striped, surface-painted designation of such space.
In fact, the actual parking area for the Museum
increased only slightly.
Assisting Trumbull-Nelson on the Project were
landscape engineer, Saucier & Flynn, of Lebanon, NH;
civil engineer, Bruno Associates, of Woodstock, VT;
Morrill Construction, of North Haverill, NH;
Blacktop Inc., of West Lebanon; Cole Electric of
East Thetford, VT; Economy Plumbing & Heating of
Keene, NH; James LaMontagne Landscape Company, of
Norwich, VT; and VR Concrete, of Colbrook, NH.
Trumbull-Nelson’s Millwork Shop created the various
entry-area benches. |
