Steve Fioravanti
Can Do Attitude!

Management experts are quick to note that an organization’s culture plays an important role in the success and focus of the business enterprise. Sometimes, trying to define the existing culture, and its influence on company personnel, is very difficult. At Trumbull-Nelson, employees learn that their success, and that of the organization, revolves around a time-honored approach of delivering personal service with integrity. Trumbull-Nelson foreman Steve Fioravanti is a fine example of a craftsman that embodies such guiding principles.

Steve brings a world of construction experience to the jobsite…over a period of 36 years! As with many of Trumbull-Nelson’s accomplished field personnel, he began his career working for a small private contractor, who happened to be his Uncle, doing residential building projects ‘from foundations to passkey’. It was a period that helped him to refine both work and people skills. Confident in his construction abilities after a few years of work, he left the industry for a time to pursue an alternate interest. Cooking. But after four years of service as a cook within an institutional setting, he chose a return to the building trade, joining Trumbull-Nelson in 1984.

Steve has participated in many challenging projects as a Trumbull-Nelson employee. And very diverse projects! One of Steve’s more interesting jobs occurred with construction of the Hanover Water Treatment Plant. He noted, “It’s remarkable to build and see what it takes to treat a town’s water supply. Few get to see how the technology works, and comes together in the building process.” He suggests that a couple of his smaller-scale jobs may have actually offered disproportionate challenges. One such project involved an exterior walkway for a residential customer that incorporated a rather sophisticated curved-brick pattern.

Trumbull-Nelson is proud to have Steve Fioravanti on the team! He helps to illustrate a corporate culture driven by a
focus of delivering ‘personal service with integrity’.

As for things that keep Steve busy outside of T-N, he notes his “long-term” involvement in the renovation of his own home. In the past 5 years, he’s gone from a 1-level, 900 square foot dwelling, to a 2-story home approaching 2400 square feet! No big deal for a man of Steve’s talent. His wife, Melanie, and their children are also there to help. But second floor and roof additions do cause even the best craftsman to be a bit wary of the weather! It’s a safe bet that, like work-related duties, Steve’s got this one covered! And he’s made a personal commitment to finish renovation-related “odds and ends” this summer… and reward himself with a well-deserved rest.

Trumbull-Nelson is proud to have Steve Fioravanti on the team! He helps to illustrate a corporate culture driven by a focus of delivering ‘personal service with integrity’.
