How does Michael J. Rosa, a self-described “relocated flatlander,” deal with construction management challenges involved at the region’s newest ski mountain facility, the Stratton Mountain Club? Like a rock-solid professional who understands the lay of the land! In Michael’s case, flatlander may be a misnomer. Certainly, an argument could be made that a ‘statute of limitation’ exists on such status. Trumbull-Nelson’s newest Project Manager, Michael, and his wife, Donna, have lived or vacationed in the hills around Ludlow since 1980. Those things that so many ‘natives’ find attractive prompted their move from Connecticut: a better quality of life for their children, and family outdoor recreation opportunities. The Rosa’s children, Jason, Bradley and Natalie, graduates (or soon to be) of St. Michael’s College in Colchester, VT are finding their way in the world. And their folks continue to do all those things that drew them north: mountain biking, fitness running, canoeing and hiking, skiing and backcountry snowshoeing, and gardening. While Michael’s work experience includes building schools, Donna is more comfortable instructing 3rd graders at The Ludlow Elementary School. As one would expect, work as Construction Manager on a Project like the Stratton Mountain Club does create tremendous professional demands on Michael, but challenge is nothing new to him. Prior to joining Trumbull-Nelson, he was Construction Manager on some very impressive building and renovation projects in central and southern Vermont, including the Norman Williams Public Library, in Woodstock; The River Valley Educational Center, in Springfield; and the Inn on the Green, in Middlebury. His career experience includes road building and heavy construction, pre-engineered metal building structures, and high-end residential construction. Quite a mix! And quite a resource for the Trumbull-Nelson organization! We are proud to welcome Michael Rosa aboard. And as far as the “flatlander” designation… you won’t hear it from our lips!
